Kept busy this morning with laundry and checking in closets for stuff for the garage sale. In the process of doing that I found this I forgot we had. Like these lamps. There are two, a long time ago I made the shades for them. Always had them in a guest bedroom as the colors don't go with our room. But darned if I'd sell them for next to nothing. [the shade isn't crooked it is the angel of the photo]
Then I came across a quilt I made for Bill when we were living in Vegas the first time. Right after I started quilting. We had a big family room that had kind of an animal theme to it. Had the same these in the basement den in IN. When we moved I put it in a big plastic, blanket holder and stuffed it in a closet when we got here.
We have NO place for it here - but again won't sell it. Here it is on the love seat here in the living room.
I guess he wants to keep it for when it gets below 70 here.
It is really, really warm. This is the back of it. A big fleece blanket.
Also came across the quilt that used to be in the Alfa. All the photo graphs are so faded now I can just barely make out what they were. The buggies where in Meadville, PA. To the right of the buggies is Mt Rushmore and to the left ruts from the Oregon Trail. Bill wants me to fix it or make a new one. I'm wondering if I can find the pictures reprint them, cut them to size and then somehow sew them over the old ones...
Also found a couple of stained glass pieces I made when I was still taking stained glass classes here in Vegas. They've been on the floor in the closet since we've been here. Too bad the blinds are in front of them - but I can still enjoy them. Thank you Chuck and Lee from Glass Art right here in Las Vegas. Also learned how to make the lamp shades there too.
And that was our morning. Went to grocery store for stuff. Found a couple pairs of the outside shorts Bill likes Wrangler Hikers - on sale so grabbed them and a pair of new shorts for me too - on sale.
Tomorrow we will probably heading for The Strip as our neighbors from Indiana are in town for a couple of days. Going to do lunch or something.
Carol your creative skills are great. I can see why you don't want to part with your things. The lamp shades are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Now I want to get back working in stained glass. Spent part of the afternoon unpacking some of the things I need to do it.
DeleteNow it is time to take a ride on the Big Roller. Be sure and take your camera.
ReplyDeleteI'm about to move after 55 years in this house. I think I have to get rid of a lot of a lot, then I see all you moved from Indiana, I think I can take every thing. I am only moving 3 blocks.
I can't get any one to go on the big roller with me...good luck with your move. It is amazing how much "stuff" one can gather up during the years. Even moving to a different RV was a chore.
ReplyDeleteLove your Alfa quilt, such a creative idea. You are do talented. Is there anything you can't do?
ReplyDeleteI wish the pictures hadn't faded - it was so neat when I first made it and the pictures were bright.
DeleteCarol. I love that animal print quilt!! If you ever decide to sell it, let me know!
ReplyDeleteBarbie (from the WomenRV forum)
It's Bills - made it for him so ... he doesn't let things go easy. I asked him he said "$7,000.00" so I don' think he wants to sell it. Will let you know if he ever changes his mind.
DeleteCan't afford that! Lol! I am sure there is sentimental value in it since you made it for him. That is priceless. Very pretty tho!
