Finished the laundry yesterday afternoon. $13 for four loads wash and dry. Plus the time waiting for everything to finish drying.
This morning was beautiful again, not too hot early and beautiful blue sky so we went to the D C Booth Historic National Fish Hatchery. What a beautiful peaceful setting.
In 1890 Congress approved a hatchery in Spearfish. The area had an abundance of pure spring water and it was close to the town and railroad stem. In 1896 the hatchery was established.
Crossing the river into the Hatchery grounds.
A couple of ponds with different sized trout in them. For a quarter you can get food to feed them.
One of the ponds had underground viewing. WOW talk about some big fish. The ranger told me the fish in this pond just lived out their lives here. One of them weighs over 20 pounds.
In 1899 the completed hatchery buildings, ice house and rearing ponds were ready for fish.
Four days later 100,000 trout eggs were incubating.
The Yellowstone Boat
It surely was not what I expected it to look like. This is beautiful. Our RV should look so good. The Captain's quarters. The wood is just beautiful.
The upper Cabinets open up to become bunks. The cabinets on the bottom left are the fish tanks.
The kitchen.
The china used on the rail car.
The bathroom.
A great sculpture of a man and child going fishing.
The home of D C Booth.
Putting fish into a stream or lake.
The first sign of fall?
They bought the horses to slaughter and grind up for fish food. There was a big meat grinder in the display.
Little bitty fish.
Hope you made it to the end. And I left a lot out. But thought it was interesting and fun.

Very Very interesting, made me wish that I was there seeing it for myself. Thanks for the well done narrative.
Our RV should be so nice inside.
