Boy the last few days have had periods of extremely busy and very tired, can't take another step. Got a good nights sleep last night and only the calves of my legs hurt today. The RV is empty, clean and all the stuff we took out to clean and the laundry is all done. It now sits out front all ready to put in a parking place, which we still have to find. There are two empty lots with paved driveways on the next street over but some one already put their little construction trailer in the best one. So Bill will have to check out the other and see if he thinks it is okay. The driveway is crumbling in places but I think it will work.
Here are our temperatures for the next week or so. The highs are great, but the lows still below Bill's comfort zone. Good thing the furnace works great. He is in a sweat shirt I am in a sleeveless blouse.
Just one fraction of the mess we have had for a few days. Lots and lots of trips back and forth from RV to house. Food, clothes, electronics, laundry etc. If you've never unload an RV after four or five months you probably think - so whats the big deal. My washer ran full time for a day and a half. But it is all done now, until next time. We are going to park it today and when the storage lot is ready will bring it home for a couple of hours and put everything, that is cleaned but not put away, away. And take it to get smogged before parking it until next time.Sunrise yesterday morning. Yes, I was up way before sunrise. Both of us were. This morning I slept in - till 6:00.
The Jeep is still out because my car refused to start - took hours to get the battery charged. Looked it up bought the battery while still in Indiana...so that goes on the list of things to do.
More of the sunrise over the desert.
So in between unloading we did a few other things. I reinstated my WalMart account and put in an order. Had things to print out and no ink in my printer, also needed a few groceries and LAUNDRY soap. Only had two pods left - that wouldn't work. So...I put in the order and selected a time for delivery. Or so I thought, instead I selected a time for pick up. Good thing I had checked it later. So by then my car had started and it needed gas. At $4.99 a gallon. AND there was a SIX gallon limit. So after getting the splash of gas we went to PICK up our groceries. At least that WalMart is only a few blocks away and they met us at the delivery zone and called for the order. In and out in a few minutes. Then home to put that away and to print and laundry. A couple of yeas ago who would have thought gas would be over five dollars a gallon and you could get your groceries delivered.

After we got home there was a knock on the door - who could it be? Well it was the Neighborhood Watch Captain. He said welcome home and that he'd been walking around the house every so often to make sure everything was fine. And if we saw any problems let him know. That was nice.
I finally finished almost every thing, laundry still going, when the NASCAR race came on. So just sat and watched it. Not a very good race. Only exciting parts were restarts.
And fixed dinner last night Curried chicken and noodles. Sure nice to cook in a big kitchen and have a dishwasher.
Again my car, the mustang, wouldn't start. So out came the Jeep again and we went to buy a battery. Also went grocery shopping (I had just ordered a very few things the other day.) Wow - filled a cart. And still forgot two things THAT WERE ON THE LIST IN MY HAND! Ugh. Expensive trip. Got in 3000 steps in the market. Glad I got my Fitbit up and synced and running. Plan on starting walking again on Wednesday with the group here.
Doing very little for the rest of the day.
Glad all is well!!
ReplyDeleteUnloading and putting away is a huge job not to mention multiple loads of laundry.
ReplyDeleteA new battery to boot. Yikes! Getting expensive.
Speaking of expensive, you are limited to 6 gallons of gas!! Does that include diesel and how the heck are we supposed to fuel up and head north??
Safely home is always a good thing and so happy that happened for you even with all the laundry you had to do. Is gas limited at all gas stations in Vegas or just that particular location? How would those that have a long commute for work be able to make that work, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteWe're paying around $8 a gallon.
ReplyDeleteDoug and Nancy - time for rest and relaxation, every year I seem to feel older for a few more days after loading or unloading.
ReplyDeleteContessa = I think it was just that gas station, we went to closest one as there was NO gas in the car. Saw cheaper ones as we went to get battery. Not much cheaper though
Sandy - I am guessing it is just that station. no fuel lines any where except Costco and Sams - so think there is no shortage. They might have been waiting for a delivery.
Jackie - WOW -
