Well I got in 8700 steps yesterday. I finally got my act together in the morning and got out for a short walk. One and three quarters miles. Better than nothing. Some pictures from that walk. This is the housing development to the south of us. Lots of individual homes being built there.
The bike/walking path. It is like rubber so nice to walk on.Part of the landscaping. Just rocks here.
A lot of it has lots of vegetation. Big and small trees, lots of flowering bushes.
Even a round about for the bikers and walkers.
One of my favorite flowers. So delicate looking.
Interesting, some of these are two different colors.
Walked down to the beach. Wow - the steps that used to be here are GONE! Just jumbled pieces of concrete left.
And more flowers.
Early afternoon we took a pulmonia to Centro. Boy is was ride not to soon be forgotten. This is a three day weekend so there are many, many national tourist in town. So traffic is crazy (that is why Bill didn';t drive) We went from stopped to 70 mph in a split second. I think we changed lanes 700 times in a 13 miles ride. The guy was a great driver - he should be in NASCAR. There isn't much to hang on to when you are riding in a Pulmonia and the seats are slick leather. Kind of fun though. Wish I could have taken a video but was afraid to let go of the rail. Notice no doors.
We got off near the Cathedral and first stop about a block away was to pick up Bill's glasses. He had the lenses replaced in four pairs of glasses - two with progressive long and medium distance also one eye with a prism. Two pairs were made into prescription sun glasses. He also had had his eyes examined. US$190 used his old frames.Walking around the block we noticed that these gorgeous trees are blooming again.
A closer look at their flowers. They remind me of orchids.
We walked a couple of blocks and caught a taxi to go home. Amazing drive. He was an excellent driver. so smooth and no swerving through lanes or quick stops and starts. In fact he was so good we got his name and number so we can use him again.
Home and relaxed the rest of the day. Met some new neighbors.
Took some sunset pictures. The changing colors.
Another day in paradise ends.
Now that (we hope!) Covid is in the rearview mirror, does it seem like more people are staying in the park?
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, as usual. Makes me feel like I'm there.
Lovely photos of a lovely sunset. So enjoyed your walk around Centro.
ReplyDeleteWow ... beautiful sunset. Looks like that ride would have been a real experience!!! I just love the narrow streets and beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteLee - there are only 10 long term rigs here as of yet. Lots more coming in for overnight and one week stays. More than the last couple of years. Hope more will show up in December.
ReplyDeleteSandy - The was the first sunset that was pretty since we've been here, no sunrises yet. But is is supposed to be cloudy for a few days.
Nancy - each pulmonia ride is different. They are fun .
