Here is a drone video that Bill took just before sunset on December 12. One of the few days when the wind wasn't blowing Click here to watch in full screen. The videos have sound. There are a lot of individual homes being built and already occupied on the lot south of the RV park. He also zoomed in on the Convention Center with the huge mural on its side. A lot of the hill sides to the north and east of us are being torn up. New homes or for landfill?
The last few days we've pretty much stayed home except for a quick morning run to Sam's Club. From noon on we watch the World Cup game between Argentina and Croatia. Good game and Argentina won so they will play Sunday for the World Cup. Sure hope they win. Wednesday we watched the game between France and Morocco to see who would play Argentina for the Cup. France will.
Just thought I'd mention a few reasons why we like to spend the winter here at Las Jaibas RV park in Mazatlan. We pay around US dollars 15 a day (monthly rate), all included - electric, water, sewer. The spaces are large and level with a cement patio. The park is extremely well maintained. Very clean restrooms and sites. There is also a laundry room here.
There is WiFi in the office but we get our own from TelMex or TelCel and we pay for it.
Some of the other things that are available here at the park.
The beach is one block away.
In the center divider of road out front is a bicycle and walking path
Transportation available right outside of the gate includes buses, taxis and pulmonias. (open air taxis}
On the RV grounds is a sit down restaurant, next to it is a taco restaurant and then a convenience store another small restaurant and a Pharmacy.
On Monday, Wednesday and Friday a fruit/vegetable truck comes through the park. He also carries some home baked goods and some days fresh meat and fish.
Once every other week a barber comes to the park.
On Mondays a laundry service comes to our door and picks up the laundry and returns it clean and folded on Wednesday.
Propane service comes when needed.
There are doctors in Mazatlan that make house calls.
The auto mechanic comes to change oil and do repairs to autos.
There is an RV Tech who is able to do most fixes and repairs on the RV at your site.
Painters come and repaint your RV and or Car. Mostly it is done right at your site or they can take it to their shop.
Tire repairs/replacements are done on site if needed.
WalMart and Sam's Club are 10 minutes away.
Right now there are ten RVs here in the back of the park. I think we are all staying the winter. We were outside last night and every one back here has Christmas lights up. Very pretty.
