On Friday I got an early start and managed to walk a little over three miles in the Wetlands. Didn't mean to walk that far but just kept following the dirt paths and stopping to look at things. The first dirt path. Some bushes and tall reeds of some kind.
Stopped, as always, at the Boardwalk pond. No geese but these ducks were there. As I continued on I passed a group of bunnies. Two ran off but this one just stayed very still until I passed.
Last year this area had very little growth in it. Been a fire there. Now there are a lot of fluffy green bushes.
Another pond, don't remember its name. I took a trail I don't remember being on before.
More company.
There were a pair of them.
Just like the reflection of the tree branch on the still water.
Oh wow, I really made a wrong turn. Suddenly I was at the river. Yes, river, here in Vegas.
More company on the walk up river.
Small rapids in this part. Really loud. The bridge across the river. All this water is reclaimed from the homes and businesses of Vegas. It all goes back into Lake Mead. The only water that isn't reclaimed is from landscaping and hosing something outside.
Still a lot of snow on the mountain. In fact it was still open for skiing over the weekend.
Lots of water fowl in the river before the bridge.
The Strip.
More water and ducks.
Heading towards home, passing a little creek.
These are taken at Vern's Island. The water completely surrounds this piece of land.
Hello!
Pretty isn't it?
Turn you sound way up to hear the songs of the bull frogs. Haven't seen one but sure can hear them. The jet overhead kind of interferes with their song.
Another empty part that is being re planted.
Heard from the insurance company this morning. They will cover all the damage to the underside of the RV. From when the bucket fell off the pickup and rolled under it. Thank goodness.
Also Bill is able to see good enough to use his computer for short times. He uses a magnifying glass so it is slow going. But at least he is able to do it now. The words and lines aren't moving around as much as they were before. AND he has been able to be a lot longer than he was a week ago. Mostly all day except for a nap in the afternoon. Thank goodness. All moods in house are improving.
I am very impressed with all the walking you are doing. Your observations and photos make for some great posts. Good news about Bills eyes but I don’t think that he should be left alone in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteContessa
Contessa - he can see enough to cook. And to clean up his dishes. He gets another shot in them next week. Hope they continue to improve. I don't like doing the driving.
ReplyDeleteGoing to try to walk at least 3 times a week.
