So any way, yesterday we jumped in a Safari - a fancy pulmonia - and went to Centro. Looks like this home is getting ready for Carnaval.
And two houses down this one needs some TLC. That is one of the things I love about Mazatlan, even the old buildings are neat to see.
At La Antigua, our favorite crepe restaurant, in the patio.
His favorite breakfast, mine too. Crepe - stuffed with sweet cream cheese, banana slices. Topped with caramel sauce and walnuts and whipped cream. YUM. YUM! I guess someone said something serious to him e
The stained glass window in the restaurant. The restaurant used to be a pretty nice hacienda. All the rooms are still there. Along with the window and a tiled fireplace. So pretty. The window is missing a few pieces of glass. But last year it was very bowed, so I guess there has been some work done on it.
One of the tiled window sills. All original glass in the windows. The amazing tiled fireplace. Whoops - whose hand is that?
The ceiling with the huge beams. And all the arched windows looking out on the patio.
Outside the trim around a door of another old building. From the restaurant we walked a couple blocks to another of Bill's favorite places.
Hum...guess where he is? Panama Bakery of course.
The orchid tree was in full bloom.
Walked as far as Plazuela Machado. Another Carnaval statue.
It looks like the Hotel Machado got a new paint job. Love the color. One of the older restaurants is closed and one is refurbished and has a new menu and name. Always changing here.
We could hear music coming from the other side of the plaza, so followed our ears to this group.
He was even dancing...A very short video of the music.
The painter is from Israel. I remember seeing him and some of his paintings when we were here last winter.
And then it was time to head home. Called a taxi to pick us up and then home. Bill had a nap and I worked on yesterday's blog. Stayed home all evening. A little cool in the room, I had on leggings and a thick t-shirt. Maybe we will have to pick up a little space heater next time we go to the store. The sunset last night was AMAZING but I didn't get a picture of it.
Today we are going to El Quelite. Jose, our driver will pick us up around 10:15. Our friend Mark is going to come to the hotel to ride with us. And we will meet up with another couple, Sheldon and Debbie, and they will follow us there. Then we'll all have breakfast or lunch. Wonder how many changes there will be there.
I posted late last night about our trip to Centro yesterday if you missed it.

I want the little phone booth that La Antigua has when you walk in. Panama I haven't gone there yet. But it's on my list.
Loved the first photo (where we stayed last year). A lovely second floor apartment. The photos of the Monigotes are just great; they are so creative and colorful - thanks for posting them. We walked way too many time to Panama Bakery….way too many times but one of there sweets taste so good with a cup of coffee while sitting in the sun. Loving these post of Mazatlan and wishing you much enjoyment each and every day you are there.
I knew you'd figure out how to get out and about and do what you like to do here. Life is always full of changes and we just have to roll with it. We experienced stressful flying during Covid and had no vehichle here for two winters but we managed. Enjoy yourself😊
You make my heart happy reading all about your Mazatlan adventures. Your photos are even better than before. Enjoy your day in El Quelite.
Mark - I like that phone booth too. And the old Singer sewing machine. And of course the food.
Sandy - I remember you saying you've stayed there. Great place to stay. We are enjoying our time here so far.
Kathy - It is sure a different experience for us. But even I miss the car. Going to try to get him on a bus one of these days.
Contessa - we are glad to be here, a lot warmer than Vegas. El Quelite was great as always.
