Strange day yesterday, only got short walk up to clubhouse to deliver some paper work to outside collection box and see if we had any mail.
Here is a picture of the whole plant that had the pretty flowers. Guess it is a yucca in bloom. The pools at the clubhouses are closed as is the gym and card rooms. Some of the residents here are wanting the rent reduced until the amenities are back open. Good luck with that.
All of a sudden in mid afternoon we heard a loud rumbling sound...thunder? Yep it sure was. It got black out and POURED with lots of loud snapping thunder. Strong cold wind really dropped the temperatures. Then it moved on and the sky was blue again. It looked like it rained again over night as the patio had puddles on it.
I woke up at 3:30 - Bill was already up. I tried to go back to sleep but ended up getting up around 4:15. UGH. Bill was cold so he decided to cook some bacon - turkey bacon. He had put on his long sleeved shirt too.
The turkey bacon, it tastes okay, but the consistency is a little different and it looks different. Enough left for BLTs for lunch. Still using up all the tomatoes I ordered by mistake.
This mornings trying to sunrise. Lots of black clouds and rain in the area still.
Shouldn't complain as our weather is going to take a turn for the worse, for me any way. We will hit the mid to high 90's by next week. Guess our cool spring is leaving us. Weather people are talking about maybe our first 100 degree days by next Wednesday.
Still trying to get a few things from grocery store. I thought I'd try Smith's this time. Want parsley and romaine lettuce, and their web site has flour on it...maybe...Hum...just got notice from Smith's that they are running behind, instead of delivering between 9-11 - it most likely will be 11:30-12. Wonder what I won't get.
I find myself doing laundry more often and cleaning things that are already clean.
Got our delivery from Smiths 4 out of 23 items. No parsley again??? Did get a little tub of margarine and my Swiffer Wet Jet liquid refills and lettuce. But very bad experience - got charged BIG for someone else's order. Customer service was very helpful and I think - will know for sure by tomorrow - the problem is taken care of. But think I'll shop at WalMart from now on.

My kind of exersize.
Such a busy and exciting day so far. I did look out the window real early and decided the sunrise was not nice enough to get dressed and go out for. So went back to bed for a while.
When I did get up the bunny was out back. They are so cute, until they start nibbling on our flowers.
Yesterday Bill spent some time putting a new covering on one of his drones. Looks kind of spiffy. The two things in front of it are extra batteries. Heaven forbid they don't match.
Got another grocery delivery from WalMart. One substitution and 3 did not haves - parsley???, romaine lettuce, and of course, flour. I like that they keep us up to date where the delivery is - and when it will be here. It was scheduled between 9 - 10 and got here at 9:15.
Oh Yes! - Did get my mop - still no swifter wet jet refills - so going to have to actually MOP the floor - WITH A MOP!.
And such excitement we got our computer paper - took ordering it four times.
Then at 10:00 I got to watch NASCAR iracing on TV. Finally my driver is figuring it out. He finished 5 today. Fun to watch and to listen to the commentary and the drivers.
Then went for a walk. Made 1 3/4 miles today. More and more of the cactus are blooming in peoples yards.
Now here is someone after my own heart. Works for me.
Bottle brush in full bloom - oh the allergies.
Not sure what this is but it is pretty.
The roses are very happy this year.
Reminds me of a Hallmark Movie.
Pretty sky.
Lots of snow still on the mountains. In fact they got new snow just a day or two ago.
Another cactus flower.
And I think I am even going to cook dinner tonight ...
I did actually cook dinner Paella with chicken instead of seafood. I always put it in a very hot oven for a few minutes to make the sides crispy - Bill like it that way. I used a double potholder to move one of the oven racks and IT MELTED TO THE RACK! What the heck kind of pot holder melts in heat? Glad I had it double. Tried to scrub it off the side of the rack but some of it will never come off.
So enough of today, no plans at all for tomorrow, except started another puzzle.

A room full of memories.
I was admiring my new curtains then took a good look around my "sewing room" and was surprised to see all the good memories in just that room. So will share some of them with you.
Today's excitement is - I actually ordered flour from the grocery store - will I get it who knows. Also ordered a mop - Between my steam mop and swifter wet jet I haven't need a "real" mop for several years. Need one now.
Watched another irace on TV- this time Indy cars, but my favorite NASCAR driver was "driving" one of them. He finished 13th - not too bad. After the race was over I decided to take a walk. Got my shoes on, my water bottle and camera and off I went. Oops might want to rethink this. Looking south west. Over us the sky was blue.
But I continued on. The wind was really starting to pick up. Looking south. Raining over the hills there.
More cool wind and this is now right over me. Time to go home. Did make 1 1/4 miles though. Better than nothing.
Back to my sewing room. And some memories. This is the wall behind the futon - for guests - lol. The two fabric hangings we picked up on our trip to Argentina in 1978. One was from Mexico the other from Panama. The pendent under the picture is from our trip to Japan in the mid 70's. The throw I made for my mother, got the material in Star Valley, Wyoming on one of our summer RV trips around 2004.
The big picture was made for me by a young Chinese woman who stayed with us for a while. She and her husband were immigrating to the US and they rented a bedroom in our home. She did this with an exacto knife. It is construction paper. The story is about a young woman who follows her love to the moon but then one of them can't return. It was a long time ago she made it and told me the story - in the early 1990's. With time the color on the paper has faded. It used to be a beautiful green. The detail in the work is amazing.
The pillow we picked up in Amish country in Pennsylvania sometime in early 2003 or 4.
This belonged to my Mother. She made it and painted it to hold her paint brushes. She was quite the artist. We have several of her oil paintings.
These were given to me by a very dear friend who passed away several years ago. She and I worked and went to college together.
Our second son, Randy, made this pottery in high school. I have several more pieces he made. He will turn 60 this year.
The Indian maiden my Mother made. The cross is made from a piece of palm frond. I made it on Palm Sunday in a tiny church in Bahia Kino, Mexico. It was the first mass held in the church and the priest taught us how to make the cross. It remains special to me because this was not long after our son John died.
Another wall and a lighter side of life. This was the first quilt I ever made. Took a quilting class at JoAnns. Quilting is addictive.

Soon after that class Bill bought me a quilting/embroidery machine. These are a couple of the first embroidery things I made using the machine.
Back to this wall. The second quilt I made several years ago when we lived in Indiana. Just liked the pattern. The items under it were picked up during our travels. The long strange hanging I got in China.
The covered bridge is a small quilt I did. The picture on the bottom is from my needlepoint time of life.
The two dolls were given to me by one of the vendors in Mazatlan who has since become a good friend.
These we got while in Argentina in 1978 - They are getting very faded.
This is from the same trip - when we drove the motorhome from California to Argentina in 1978 - the weaving is from Guatemala.
Like I said lots of memories in this room.

This tin was my Mother's Mother's button box. It still has buttons in it.
