We basically haven't done any thing since Bills oral surgery so will post more pictures from La Noria. Although here is a picture from the dentists office a couple of days ago. When he went back because of the excessive pain. They use a fog type of disinfectant for the offices and rooms. They had just sprayed this room just before he went in. And this was after it cleared up some. Worth the visit though as he is finally not feeling miserable. Just has a bother now not a pain. Thank goodness.
Continuing on with our trip to La Noria. Always first the arch.
First time I've noticed this neat little trash can just as you get through the arch. Looks like it is being used. La Noria is a very clean little town. The main street into town. Two or three topes on it. They really slow the traffic down.
We parked by the plaza and walked around a bit. I hadn't noticed this before. Talking about one of the buildings surrounding the plaza. It says, " Movie Jauraz - In this building they found installed the machines from the first movie theater that serviced the community in the 1950's. Don Tino Tirado was the provider of the way to take this new machine to other towns in the area." Years ago when we were visiting with a lady in this building she told us about the movies shown there. And where the projectors were and where and how the movies were shown.
This is the building it is talking about. Newly painted since last time we were here. It is a big building about the size of a half of a block. In the middle is a large patio.
The movie projectors were in the raised portion just to the left of the light pole.
I took this from the upper floor of the restaurant/hotel. You can kind of see the patio portion. The movies were projected on the side where the white wall is.
There was a big to do in the plaza. Sent Bill to find out what was going on. Every one there was a man, most wearing light colored cowboy hats. Standard headwear for the cowboys and farmers here.
Lots of them here. It was a meeting about helping farmers and farming.
The gazebo and the plaza. Here is another sign about one of the buildings. Now the building is a home that has a little grocery store in the front room. It says, "Colonial Osuna Estate. Home of Don Daniel Osuna, founder of the Santa Clara winery."
This is the building it is on. Also taken from upstairs in restaurant/hotel. You can enter the store from either of the two doors on ground level.
More pictures from upstairs. The plaza with the church up the hill. The new La Noria sign.
A building that looks okay from the sidewalk, but there is no roof on it.
Looking through a crack in one of the doors of the building above. Not much left of it.
A traffic jam as we were getting ready to leave. A home turned into a business selling water bottles. Don't know if they fill them or just sell them empty.
Driving past the church.
The colors on the brick wall between the buildings just caught my eye. Of course we had to stop to buy tortillas. He is filling his cooler with fresh made tortillas package by the kilo. He will go out to the homes to sell them.
He is selling filled water bottles. Also goes out into the town to sell them.
There go the tortillas. He has a loud whistle that he blows to let the housewives know he is out front.
The lady selling the tortillas. Bill waiting his turn.
There goes the water seller.
The man in the background is in charge of the machine that forms and cooks the tortillas.
We went up to see Tico the potter but he wasn't home. Just some clean laundry on the front fence of his home.
Then on home. The next day, Bill had his teeth pulled. So....A week ago today.
