And then the rains came down.

I was going to post some happy upbeat pictures and doings, but decided to share our exciting day with you. It is Monsoon weather here and we finally got some rain in our area. WAY too much rain. Actually it rained heavy for about 15 minutes. Then an hour or so later we got the water. This is the front corner of our house. Water is coming from the back, going under the house and coming out here.

The deep drainage ditch behind our house. It is about 3 feet deep by 3 feet wide.

Bill heard water running so went outside to check. Oh Oh! That is the front corner of our home.
It is gushing out from under the house right at the corner
Looking towards the back of the house. The wall separates us from the wetlands.
Oh boy! Just the other side of the AC the water is flowing under the house.
The drainage dish. Flowing like a river.
We are at the higher end of our street. So all water is flowing towards the end.
Water still pouring out from under house.

Digging out the ground under it.
The end of the street, the gates are to the Wetlands. They are holding a lot of debris. Management sent people to open the gates to let the water flow out.
The house on the left, had water in their garage and a big area where  the water was coming out from under their house.
It is quiet now, but another big storm is coming our way. Just heard thunder. All water is gone, street is full of mud and rocks. Management is trying to get it cleaned up before it rains again. No water got into the house. But will need to fill hole out front and shovel rocks back into place.
So our exciting weekend - supposed to rain tomorrow too. Can't wait to see the news tonight. Lots of flooding all over town.

Oh my ... that doesn't look good at all!! It's amazing just how much water those clouds can drop ... and how much accumulates as it drains away! It turns dry gulches into raging rivers.

Nancy - Our raging river has dried up know and let behind lots of dry mud and every ones'
rock landscaping in the street. Sun and blue sky today.
Dirk - yep that is one work for it. But not the one I used.

Nancy - nope no flood insurance. need to hire someone. No one from management will check either. They own the land, think they would. Nope
