Road Trip Breakfast at La Martina

Yesterday, Tuesday, I was up early enough to see another beautiful sunrise. Header picture.

Bill had been up a bit when he asked, "Want to go to La Martina for breakfast." Well, of course. So off we went. When we got to the free road 15 saw these big signs. One advertising the hotel and restaurant in La Noria and the one on the left telling you to turn around and go back to the toll rod to get to El Quelite as the free road is still closed because of the bridge that got washed out during the hurricane.

Also in part due to the hurricane and wet weather during the summer it is so green here this year. And all kinds of flowers are blooming along the roads.
Part of the road to La Noria, and La Martina, has been repaved and widened. Nice. See all the green.
Turning in to La Martina the cactus fence is flourishing too.
As beautiful as ever.
We like to sit on the back area. This covered area didn't have any vines on it when we left here in February. Things grow so lush and fast here.
Looking down across the big yard to the forest beyond.
We like to sit at the table right up against the edge of the area looking down over the lawn.
View from our table.
Bill had American coffee I had Olla, Mexican coffee. Always bring tortilla chips and sweet potato chip and cheese made in the area. And of course dip.
Bill relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
More trees and flowers have been planted along the lawn and by the two buildings.
Another look at the lawn. So green. What a beautiful place for events.
A little bit of new waiter and language difficulties when ordering our breakfast. So we ended up with a whole lot to eat.  Bills meal.
My meal, it comes with a spicy sausage that is just too hot for me to eat so asked if something could be substituted for it. Have done that before usually getting a small portion of fruit instead of sausage.  As I said a  bit of miscommunication. Instead of sausage I got a pulled chicken dish that was delicious. Bottom of dish. I ate everything on the plate (except for the beans.)
But we also got an entire fruit, yogurt, granola plate. It in itself is an entire breakfast. I managed to eat a whole lot of it too.
Was rather full when we left.
Walked down around the lawn. Just some pictures from down there. While I was taking pictures Bill was talking to Maria, the owner. She says things are very busy here especially on weekends. Every one working there is well and made it through the summer.
Just a strange plant. The only flower on it.

Another fence of cactus.
Looking back at the restaurant. Can't you just imagine a bride coming down those steps.

I live the tiles on the steps.
Pictures from inside the patio area of the restaurant.

Beautiful floor. There used to be tables in this area.
Heading back out to the highway the bougainvilleas are beautiful.
As always a great meal and beautiful place. Such a nice way to spend a morning. We didn't continue on to La Noria or go to the tequila distillery. Will do that another day. Spent the afternoon at home then went out to the look out point by the light house to watch the sunset. Another post. Enjoying our time here, just wish it would cool down a little and that the humidity will soon go down. Then we'll be able to spend more time out and about.

Out and about Monday

Monday morning had a beautiful sunrise. As did today. Glad I was up both days to see them. This is yesterday. Header picture is today.

You can kind of see the lights Bill has put up. Rafael put the ones up in the tree for us.
We got out and about for a while yesterday. This is part of the front of the RV park. There are now four rigs here. But one is leaving in a week.
Heading through the Golden Zone. The road has been repaved and the sidewalks redone. Also new crosswalks for the people. I had seen pictures of this one but still could not believe it. When they first put it in some cars going over it flew off of it. Saw one video where the car was a foot and a half off the ground. And come to find out there are TWO of them. Got to be sure to remember them at night where there is very little traffic. I guess they are for wheel chair or handicap people. Even with the sidewalk, do not have to go down curb. But at corners there are sidewalk ramps.
The second one, they are close together.
Drove along the Malecon heading towards the Centro Historico. The bike path here is being painted that's why it looks like water -the paint is wet. About five guys taking care of it. One sweeping, one watching and three with rollers painting. Could not focus camera quick enough to get a picture. Until it got repainted didn't realize how much the paint had faded.
Since we were here in the spring the yellow line with the half balls has been installed all along the bike path. Keeps the vehicles off of it.
Our first stop was the watch maker. All Bill's watches going in for their yearly cleaning and TLC. Also he is hoping that the watch maker will be able to get the piece that is needed to fix his favorite watch. We aren't parked on the sidewalk we are actually on a driveway. Even so have to pull in the driver's mirror so cars on the street can get by.
Then of course as we were in Centro we had to stop at THE BAKERY. Another strange parking job so I stayed in the car - so no pictures. Every one in bakery is well and business is booming. He has expanded and has 12 people working for him. now. Bill did a little shopping.

Then back through town and a stop at the laundry. One of my favorite parts about winter in Mexico. Getting the laundry done by someone else.
We watched a little TV last night. We have Dish Anywhere. We go on line here and with the DA app it connects to our TV in our living room at home. Without WIFI we can't watch it. So found out it uses about 3GBs for two hours of TV. The last couple of years with the TelMex cable we had unlimited data. So this year the Internet is better but we'll have to be careful how much TV we watch.
Today we took a short road trip to have breakfast. More about it tomorrow.

A normal day in the life of...

Was up this morning at 4:30 so got to see the pretty sunrise.

We are starting to get into the routine of daily life here. But first an up date on a few things, My poor little deformed finger that I fell on in San Carlos still hurts now and then but at least not all the time any more. I can even use it typing for a while before it complains. It is still kind of red and bruised but that too is getting better.

On Saturday the RV tech here, Eric, came by to work on John's 5th wheel and Bill had him come over to look at the two drawers that the first mobile RV guy in Arizona screwed up when he was working on the water heater. He took them out and when he put them back in he knocked the rails they go in and out on off. So the drawers would no longer go in. All fixed now. Also found out why the front door sticks some times. The hinges are loose. Maybe something the thieves did when breaking in.

Here is the weather report for the next few days. Continues to be hot and humid and not cooling down too much at night. The humidity is in high 70's - low 80's. Not used to that. I sit here typing and break out in a sweat. So not doing and walking around much. The percentages on the right are chances of rain. Pretty low but when it is so humid it almost feels like rain.

Yesterday we took a trip down town to the grocery store. Exciting right - not. To get in you must have a mask on, have your temperature taken and walk through sanitizer.
Already getting ready for Christmas. Picked up a few things and realized we had not brought our bags in with us. So now we own ANOTHER bag. Got to remember them. Our grocery purchase was $355.65 - Wow! Always a shock the first time until you start thinking in pesos - then only US$17.48.
Back home. A lot of different things around the RV park. Two new restaurants a seafood and sushi place and a Taco Time -it seems to be a chain. The Seafood place is busy, cars are parked all over the place, some even inside the park.
And just north of the is a big new pharmacy. It is built in front of all the new homes that were built a couple of years ago.
In the center medium the bike path is finished. All the way north to the ocean.
Nice little yellow topes to slow the cars down while going over the bicycle path.
We drove up north to the end of the road at Cerritos. Boy was it busy there. Even had a new parking lot for cars and it was full. Lots and lots of tour buses there too. Looks like the restaurant at the end has added a new eating area.
The cotton candy man. No parking available by the shops.
Roys Restaurant was full. Cooking up a storm.
On the way home we stopped at Torres across the street for an early dinner. Saw a couple of the iguanas.
We both had chicken fajitas. Very good. We both ate too much.
Last night we decided to watch some TV to see how many GBs it would consume. Only watched about a half hour and according to my meter it didn't use very much at all. Wondering if it was because we were using Bill's laptop so the usage doesn't show up on mine. Guess I'd better check that.
