Running errands

We spent part of this morning running errands. We had to pick up some medical cards. Got that done easily. Found the place, it was open and our cards were waiting for us. Then on to Centro to go to the bakery - again. Some of the different streets we drove down today.

Getting closer to downtown. Lots of wires going here and there.
Some of the buildings are painted and kept up, other need TLC.
Just liked this picture.
This food vendor has been on this same corner since we've been coming to Mazatlan. Later in the day he has a lot of people eating there.
There was a cruise ship in town today.  We also stopped at the watch maker to check on Bill's favorite watch. According to the watch maker he has taken it apart and checked it out and put it back together many, many times and it still isn't working. Now it is a challenge for him. He says he will win! Hope he does. He's got three months to do it.
Right downtown. Ice Cream...Yum.
This year the restaurants upstairs of the Central Market are open again. Seemed to be a lot of people going in and out of the market. Good to see that. Most people wear masks.
Lots of new towers and even more going up. Will be wall to wall in a couple of years.
Painting the cross walks. Be careful they come up quick.
I like this building. I always like to see it after it has been painted. About every two to three years it gets repainted. It has been multi colors and turquoise and white and other colors I can't remember.
It looks like they are doing some much needed maintenance, repair work on the famous Valentino's. There is now a couple of grill/bars open in it. Also a look at the center divider.
Then on home. Spent the afternoon in the AC  About 4:00 we went across the street to have dinner. The food at the Torres this year has been excellent. Tomorrow we have a couple more errands to do. So at least we will get out of the RV for a while.  Two Canadian 5th wheels pulled in today. They are regulars and will be here all winter. Already more rigs here then all last year.

Keeping busy, kind of.

Just some pictures from driving home yesterday after our breakfast. Colorful homes on narrow cobblestone streets.

The three story parking structure right downtown Centro. I think I remember reading it is open. Forgot to pay attention to see if any cars in there.
I like the grayish tone palm trees.
New painting on the outside of a bar/grill.
Still no traffic out in Olas Altas.
One of the main streets with its center bike path.
Street entertainment during the red lights. Has his hula hoop.
This mornings sunrise
Went out to breakfast again this morning, at least it gets us out of the RV and it is still cool enough to be out. Hum...is this politically incorrect?
Walked out almost on the sand looking south towards town.
Looking north, not too many people out on the beaches yet.
Guess the hurricane decided this are should be beach instead of grass. Some grass is trying to peak through all the sand in places.
No reason I just liked the looks of this leaf.
The air conditioning quit working a few days ago. Mechanic is back. Check out the positions of their feet.
Almost fixed.
And we dropped the laundry off in the afternoon and walked through the campground to the sidewalk and past the restaurants to the pharmacy to pick up somethings. At 5:30 in the evening. When we got home, both of us were puffing and soaking wet from the humidity. Tomorrow we have a couple of errands to do.

Early Monday Morning

This is a three day holiday weekend so I thought there might be a lot of people out and about. I guess we were just out really early. In the car by about 8:15. Very few cars out even in the Golden Zone.

Wow! Not even any one at the Mazatlan sign. The colors didn't come out real good as the sun was in a weird place for good pictures.
No walkers, no bicycles.
The white and black building on the right wasn't completed when we went home in the spring.  And another high rise going up. So many new ones. Really changing the looks of the Malecon.
Play ground for youngsters or a muscle beach kind of thing. Colorful
Sitting in the shade looking over the water at the city.
Turned on Angel Flores. Painting the old military hospital - was green and cream colored. Going to repurpose it for several things. Cultural Arts I think and some government offices.
A few of the homes on Angel Flores.
One of my favorite buildings and corners in Centro. The old German Notions building.
Actually took the picture for the mural which doesn't really show up, but like all the patterns and shapes and shadows I caught.
Driving past the Plazuela Machado, no one there either. Day of Dead decorations still up.
They were getting either a money drop off or pick up. Nice big guns.
Decided to stop here for breakfast. Actually it was because we found a parking place right across the street. Very unusual.  A very small parking place, but the Jeep fit with his passenger side mirror pulled in.

Luckily we were early enough to get a seat in the patio. So nice out there.

Bill and I both had banana, cream cheese, banana, walnut and whipped cream crepes. YUM!!! Neither of us could finish the whole thing.

Going back to the car across the street.
I thought we might stop somewhere so Bill could fly his drone, but he said it was too humid to stop. Quiet drive back to RV. Stayed home all day Sunday. And will not be going anywhere this afternoon.
