To continue with our time spent in Centro Thursday. Anyway. We walked from the Centro Market to the Plazuela Machado. It is still very humid out. This morning at 7 o'clock the humidity is 91% That is really and truly an big UGH. Even the keys on the laptop feel sticky. Back to the walk the side of the Cathedral. Like I mentioned before all the block illusion is done with paint. A few years back we spent a lot of time just watching them paint it.
See the arrow it is point to the bell rope that is used to ring the bell. Wish we'd catch the priest pulling on it. We've watched and listened to it several times in the past.
The front entrance. Again that is all hand painted. While way up on rickety scaffolding. Leaning way out with their brushes and rollers.
Across the street - Just after I took this photo the pigeons all took off at once. The boy screamed and ducked and his parents were laughing. Even I ducked. Another utility box in Centro.
We walked by the Pirate Museum because I wanted to take a photo of the information plaque about the building. There is a skeleton in the window.
The building is three floors high and the tour includes the whole building. Costs 300 pesos and lasts an hour. All done by pirates in costume and has history of piracy in the area. ARRRRGGG Meets you at the door.
I was a little squeamish about grabbing the door handles, even knowing they are fake bones.

Just outside the building. Does he look like he belongs there? See the car behind him. I know hard to see, but took and posted a picture of it a couple of days ago.
For years one of Bill's "I'm really old" stories is how he learned to drive in a 1905 Ford that had no brakes. Only a forward pedal and reverse pedal and to stop the car you had to push the reverse pedal. Well folks here is the car. Only two pedals.
Nuts, here is the outside of the Pirate Museum and again I forgot the plaque, there it is on the wall between the windows and the construction wall. Guess we'll have to go there again.
The building behind the construction wall is getting an entire facelift. So glad, wish I could see it done. It looks like they are completely redoing the upper windows. All new wood but keeping the same design. More utility boxes. Interesting way to make them something except ugly boxes. Back in the Plazuela Machado. There was a photo shoot of some kind going on. Maybe about the food in the restaurant. The girls at the table did not look like they were having fun.
Have seen this same man for many years walking around town carrying the Calla Lilies for sale.
Ah Ha! Bill's new teeth got put to a test. Caesar salad with chicken at Gaia. He ate every bit of it and says everything was fine. Good.
My salad. Wrapped in very thinly sliced cucumber strips. That is very think sliced pineapple slices that are caramelized. Lots of other fruit in salad. Very good and pretty.
A large group of students came by to have formal pictures taken of their class.
Just a picture of the pretty sky.
All the restaurants getting set up for the evening. The streets are closed and tables are put out.
the restaurant next to where we ate. Two restaurants share the same building. Actually three as there is one upstairs too.
We got in about 5000 steps or almost two and a half miles. Didn't go out to dinner. Nothing in hotel to eat. So first thing Friday morning we went to Walmart to pick up some snacking food.
It is going to seem strange when we get home and don't go out every day. Need to think of a way to do more there. We both feel much better getting out and about.

I always love reading about Mazatlan thru your eyes. It is much much warmer than usual for this time of year. After living here for the summer I don't even notice this humidity.
