A bit of fall color from The Wetlands.
Baring any unforeseen circumstances we will be spending a month (31 days) in Mazatlan after all. Part of January and part of February. Booked the flight and the hotel room and a friend of a friend will drive us any where we need or want to go. OR if we can we might rent a car for a few days. I'd have to drive. But being as old as we are, might not find a rental place that will rent to us.
Hotel is right on main road through town where there is all kinds of public transportation available. One block from beach, all kinds of restaurants within walking distance.

Got our Covid shot yesterday. Bothering Bill some today, no reaction for me - so far. I've read that people with long covid who get the new shot about 30 -50% get rid of long covid. 4 - 10% get it worse and rest have no changes. Sure hope Bill is one of the 30 - 50 % or the middle group where nothing changes.
Neither of us has been on a plane for over 22 years. Kind of apprehensive that I'll forget something or do something wrong. We have requested assistance because of Bill's seeing problems. It has been confirmed. Hopefully he will have his new "Real" ID Card before too long. He will get another shot in his eye a few days before we leave and next appointment will be after we get back. He thinks the news injection is working, as he can see a little better. Should have it by end of this week. Fingers crossed.
So that's our exciting news for today.

Oh, such good news; just wonderful. So happy for you both.
Don’t worry about forgetting anything. Rex’s philosophy is “if you forget something, buy it or do without” and you know you can buy just about anything in Mazatlan that will work.
And you will not have to cook or clean at all!! Enjoy your holiday.

Glad you're able to get a month in Mazatlan this winter. We managed two winters without a vehicle during covid as transportation is so easy here.
Hi Nancy and Doug - it sure is going to be a different experience for us. Flying and being without a car.
Sandy - Bill says the same thing, buy it there...but sometimes not as easy as if we were here. The luggage is sure small, just carry ons. And I need my laptop. For sure going to be interesting.
Judy - thanks we intend to enjoy it. I have a big list of things to make sure we do that we've put off for years. Parasailing?? Going to have to have some snacks in the room.
Janet - Yah, we really need to get out of the house for a while. Hopefully he can see well enough to enjoy it. But know he will miss the car.
Kathy - Should be an experience, we are so spoiled about jumping in Jeep and going anywhere. Maybe I can get him on the bus a few times. And Rafa has a friend who is a driver so we can go out of town a few times.
Mazatlan has a car service called DIDI. It is similar to UBER. Download the app! We now use it 95% of the time. Just email ahead where you want to go and they pick you up and also let you know how far away they are. They also give you the description of the car and the license plate and name of the driver. If you input your credit card, the payment will go directly on the credit card. No exchange of pesos unless you want to tip. So much easier that a pulmonia and V ERY much cheaper.
