Wind event yesterday and walk in Wetlands

We walk at 8:30 so we managed to have a nice walk in the Wetlands before the big wind event we had later in the day. Got in over 8700 steps during the walk.

Here are a couple of pictures from the wind storm. This was yesterday afternoon, there is a mountain out there where the arrow is.

Just took this this morning. It still is a little dusty out. There was some damage to buildings, trees and power poles around the valley. We just shook and rattled. Gusts up to 69 mph, sustained  from 35 to 40 mph.
Bill out back with his anemometer, measuring the gusts. He got one at 67 mph.
The walker meet at one of the club houses. These beautiful roses are along one side of the building. So pretty.
So we decided to walk in the Wetlands again. More interesting them walking around the community homes. Saw lots of bunnies.
Some pictures I just took because I liked the view.
A road runner, hope he manages to stay away from the coyotes.
Duck, he never moved. Hope he has his other leg just pulled up while he sleeps.
Another just for the view.
More water foul.
These guys came swooping by us then landed in the pond.
A burnt tree that is trying to bud again.
More water. This was before the wind began to blow. So nice reflections.
A along the trails new sign posts are going up. Hope they give information about what is in the area. Most of the signs up now say, don't drink the water and stay on the trails.

The trail we were following.

Took us to another pond. Recognize the tree? When the art display was up this tree had the colorful string of balls on it.
Looks like someone took a chair saw to this stump.
Cut holes right through it. Art or vandalism?
A little slow moving creek .
Just a cut branch, I wonder why the color change through the years.
Well this is getting long enough, will post rest of the pictures tomorrow.
Going to do some work on my window today, if it warms up enough in the garage. The wind blew in a real cool snap.

Carol, I really like the turtle header. Especially the turtles on the left and right that have their back legs stretched straight out sunning. Gave me a chuckle.

Sandy - The turtles are fun to watch, especially when they climb over each other.
Kathy - it is a nice place to wander around. Lots and lots of different trails to take.
