On the road in Arizona.

Hello from VERY VERY WINDY Golden Valley AZ.
We are rocking and rolling. Hope I don't get sea sick!. Wouldn't you know I'd pick a windy and probably a wet weekend to take the RV out. I'm hoping the rain is not bad so we can get out and do what we'd planned on doing.

The wind started up just about the time we got to Lake Mead, just south/east of Vegas. One of the overpasses on the new Boulder bypass.

Said on the news the other day that the lake is up 15 feet from a couple of years ago. And this years snow pack hasn't melted yet. So it should go up more.
We were not going to argue with this sign. Not the way we were getting blown around. This is going over the bridge by Boulder Dam going into Arizona.
And it blew all the way here. Here being just north of Kingman on the road to Bullhead City. I thought it would be a central location. Want to go spend some time in Coloride and Oatman. But if it rains... And thought it would  be fun for Bill's drones. Well not with this wind it won't.
We put some gasoline in the RV [at $3.40 a gallon] and were on the road by 9:00, 102 miles later at 11:30 we got to the Tradewinds RV in Golden Valley. Passport America for three nights about $18 a night. Will keep my thoughts about the park to myself until tomorrow. Nice big pull throughs and pretty level. All utilities.
There are several RV parks in this area BUT no restaurants. Closest is in Kingman! Or Bullhead. And we left most of the food at home.
Did bring bread though. Here is our new toaster/toaster oven. All in one. Took us a while to figure out how to use it. Of course the instructions got thrown out with the box. You can see the oven part - the toaster part is on the top. Works pretty good. And it is maroon and matches the coffee pot and the color scheme in the RV, La de da! [the blue spot is a reflection.]
On the Internet Bill discovered that there is a place here that sells exotic wood. So that is another reason we are here.
We took the Jeep and went to check out the wood seller - only open Fri-Sat-Sun. Good thing we will still be here. Then we headed into Kingman to eat and sight see Route 66.
Good meal in Calico's - Bill had salad with grilled chicken and I had liver and onions. Very good. Then we drove down old 66. Took lots of pictures, will sort them later.  It is now 6:00 p.m. and the wind has let up a little. Hoping we can get a start tomorrow a.m. before the rain.
I am still coughing and sneezing from that damn flu.

Sorry you are getting crummy weather! We've always considered Golden Valley a bit of a hole(sorry!) You can stay in the Riverside park in Laughlin for just over $100 per week and there are lots of restaurants. Thought it funny you ordered liver and onions as I only know two people who do that..my husband Eric and my long time friend Rusty😊. Have fun.

Looks like Friday and Saturday will be sunny and less windy so hopefully you can get some sightseeing and shopping done then.
I love Rt 66! I want to explore that area one day. Won't be living too far from there soon tho.
Have fun!

We are only staying in Golden Valley three nights at half price with Passport America. We just want to go to Oatman and Kingman Route 66 and Chloride - then on to around Sedona. Don't think Id like to be here any longer.

Went to Oatman today , weather perfect high 70s but windy so Bill couldn't take up his drone. Maybe tomorrow.

It matches our coffee maker.
And works pretty good doing both oven toasting and regular toasting
