Doing nothing

Its hard to write a post when we are doing absolutely nothing. The wind has been blowing here like crazy. The RV was really rocking Thursday and Friday. And for the last couple of nights it has been down in the 30's. Right now at 8 o'clock it is 39 outside. For sure not Bill's kind of weather. Yesterday we had the TV on to watch the NASCAR race in Vegas and they had to stop the race for a while because of SNOW falling on the track. So it isn't any nicer there.

Been watching TV and reading a lot. Both of us are having the "back into very dry climate" sneezing and nose running. It takes a week or so to get used to the low humidity again. Never thought much about it before, but now the first sign of any sneeze or runny nose and the mind jumps to OH NO. Covid. Even when you know better.

We decided to come home earlier than planned because the weather in Mazatlan was cooler than usual. Carnival was going on and we were just restless. Been on the road now for over 140 days. During Carnival we pretty much stay out of the downtown and Central areas because of traffic and so many people every where. Also this year still because of Covid we weren't going to many of the busy places we used to go to. We had originally planned on leaving on March 3rd when our rent was up. So we didn't leave too much earlier.

The last couple of days we haven't done much. Went to the market a couple of times, just for something to do. I'm glad we decided to stay here for a week as the weather would not have been fun to travel in. A whole lot of wind has been blowing. Tomorrow we will leave here about check out time 11 o'clock. Will wait till the last minute so it will be a little warmer out when Bill has to hook the Jeep. We are in a back in site so can't do that today. But we are only going 150 miles so that will be fine. Staying in Gila Bend for the night then on to Quartzsite for Tuesday night. Should be home around noon on Wednesday. And then the work begins. Unloading, putting away and hopefully not having to clean up mouse poop. A little over 500 miles from here to Vegas. I remember when we used to do more than that in a day. No more. Age is catching up to us I guess.

Yesterday I tried making a frittata - didn't turn out the way I thought it should. A not save kind of recipe. But it warmed up the RV for a while. Also yesterday a friend of ours, who we haven't seen in a couple of years because of covid, came by. He and his wife live close to here in Green Valley. A knock on the door and there he stood with - get this - a CARROT CAKE - for us. The first time ever we met him it was because he brought me a carrot cake for my birthday when we were here on our way to Mexico many years ago.  Click here to read the story about why he brought me a carrot cake. Click here to read about the first time he brought a carrot cake. Cannot believe it was that long ago. In 2012. Wow.

Going to watch the race later today. #18 will be starting dead last. Wrecked his primary car in practice. Well it will be a challenge. Hope the weather is better.

And that is it for now. Will try to post tomorrow from Gila Bend.
