Having a good time here

The weather is great, if only the humidity would get lower.

Sunday morning we both woke up rested and glad we don’t have to move the RV for a few months. Almost felt like we’ve been given freedom. Or that a great weight had been lifted from us. The new headed is of us parked. We will go to nursery in a week or so for some potted plants for the patio. And probably by the end of the week Bill will have all his lights strung up.

The park looks so different this year. All the plants and trees are really green and blooming. So pretty.  Right now there are three rigs up front and three of us here in the back. Our bananas. First year we've had any.

So strange not to be able to get up and go online to see what happened over night – I don’t even know who won the NASCAR championship. (now I know - ugh.)

But anyway – back to yesterday. We decided to take a drive across town to the Historic Centro district. We’ve discovered that early Sunday mornings there is no traffic. So off we went. Lots of new buildings and businesses up. Still a lot of decorations around from Day of the Dead.

A look across the water to the buildings on the Malecon

We stopped to check out the additions to the small street where the statues of the Beetles are. They’ve added Marilyn Monroe??  and the colorful flags across the top.

Also a lot of skulls for Day of the Dead.

The red car and phone booth were there last Spring.

The Beetles.

A view of another part of Mazatlan.

And being in Centro we just had to have breakfast at La Antigua. The place with the great atmosphere and crepes. We got there just after they opened so no problem sitting at our favorite table.

We both had coffee and the banana, cream cheese, caramel, walnut and whipped cream crepe. Neither of us could finish it.

From there we went to the Plazuela Machado, they also still had up the decorations – a couple skulls.

Five skeletons draped in black gauze

The gazebo had colorful cloth on it.

And a big Catrina.

Heading back home we were held up by these two guys pushing their loaded fruit cart up a slight incline.
A street cleaner.

Oh my gosh – my favorite mural of the deer dancer is gone and replaced with this. Neptune, I guess.

So that was it yesterday. We thought about going to the plaza in the evening to listen to music but the wind came up really strong and cool. So another time for that. Today out for breakfast - more on that tomorrow - and doing errands.

I have a feeling the next 8 weeks are going to be torture for me. I know what table you were sitting at. And what was missing was ME..... Counting the days till I get there.

Bananas and other plants look great. Someone must have watered them while you were gone.

Love all your plants. Ours don't so so well because of the wind off the ocean. Bananas, lucky you and the scent of the plumeria is to die for. When a flower falls off I put it in a tiny bowl in water on the table. The scent lingers for days.
