Day after Christmas

An article from the Mazatlan Post this morning.

"Mazatlan, travel destination with the best management of the pandemic in the Country December 23, 2020

This municipality, which today dawns with 22 active cases, strengthens its strategies to mitigate the chain of Covid-19 infections

Mazatlán, Sinaloa.- Of the main beach destinations in Mexico, Mazatlán is the one that has had the best management of the pandemic, which has resulted in the containment and mitigation of the chain of Covid-19 infections, that to date only registers 22 active cases.

According to the report presented by the State Government Health Secretariat on Monday night, Mazatlán did not present any death from this disease and also today celebrates its third consecutive day without new patients.

Compared to other beach destinations that attract a greater number of visitors, such as Acapulco, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Los Cabos, Mazatlan is the one with the lowest rate of cases of the Sars-Cov-2 virus and Sinaloa is in Amarillo  [yellow] at the National Traffic Light.

Today Acapulco registered 10 thousand 928 patients with Covid-19; the municipality of Benito Juárez, where Cancún is located, had 7,133; Puerto Vallarta, 4 thousand 793 and Los Cabos, 182. It should be noted that Guerrero, Quintana Roo, Jalisco, and Baja California Sur are in Orange on the National Traffic Light.

Containment and mitigation of contagions by Covid-19 in Mazatlán have been effective thanks to the strategies implemented by the Municipal Government headed by Mayor Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, such as Operative Networks and the creation of the mobile application MZTourist App.

Civil Protection, Public Security Secretariat, Tourist Care and Protection Center, Senior Officials Office, City Council Secretariat participate in the Networks Operation, and the National Guard collaborates. This reagent monitors that establishments comply with health measures."

Do I believe their numbers, not sure.

Don't think I want to go home.

The drone video Bill took Christmas Day. He was using his DJI Mavic Air Two.  He is just learning how to use it.  Not the drone so much but the App that runs it. It does take great pictures.  Click here to watch full screen.

This is what we were watching Christmas Day morning. The TV channel Las Vegas 5 just had this video playing and Christmas music playing all morning.
Around nine o'clock a.m. we took a great drive around town. Next blog.

I think when we come down next time I'll leave the 5ver down there in case they close the border again.

Thanks for the blogs and video Carol and Bill.

By the way, the park used to be fairly quiet before the housing development,...how is it now? By that I mean any loud party music? Carl

Jackie - now we have to get out and let him use it some where else - but have to wait for some of the tourists to leave.
Carl - it is pretty quiet here, no loud music or parties yet. A couple of yappy dogs but that is about it.

Great video. How many units are up front - I could see two I thought. So pretty along the beach area and water.
