We could have used one of these after yesterday and today.
It was okay for a few miles south of Navojoa then it got bad. I have a road log I keep year after year. As you can see not much has improved. Somewhere around Estacion Luis was the tiny town - with the ten topes. Two sets of 5 each. WHY? From KM 90 to the state line it was rough. And lots of topes and vibradores.
Still a lot of switching back and forth, only now the side we were switched to was bad. Lots of potholes.
And very very narrow. I held my breath every time a truck or bus came by us.
Nice road to enter the state.
It got better as went a ways. Not so rough. Here we are in the northbound lane going by where the 15 got washed out a month or so ago. A bridge went down.
Going to take a while to repair it.
In the truck stop for the night. Pemex 4925 just south of Los Mochis where we stayed will soon be a SMARTGAS truck stop. New signage going up and grand opening in about a week. Will still have the very good Elba restaurant and the guarded parking. We had dinner at Elba as usual.
We had breakfast at Elba too then back on the road about 8:00. The road was pretty good. But topes at almost every Pemex. Watch for them. And watch for the free range cattle - didn't manage to get a picture of a herd of them grazing along the road. And lots of farm equipment traveling the highway.
A few miles south of Guasave the road left - well some it remained around the cracks and pot holes. It would have been better if it was all missing. One hole was about 1 1/2 feet wide and about 8 inches deep. There was no way to miss them all. And then they throw in the topes. This was a good part. Once past Culican it got better again. For over 700 pesos in tolls it had better be better.
About 60 miles from Mazatlan the pot holes showed up again. All together it was a rough riding day. We had a drawer fall out and a couple of things slide off the seats. It is a good thing we don't have to go any farther. 220 miles and five hours to Mazatlan. The scenery was pretty though, everything is so green. Got parked in "our spot." Most of our plants survived the summer. Need to replace a few of them.
And of course our visit to Fat Fish for RIBS.
He ate every bit of them.Home at last. Tomorrows another day. Have to go to Centro to see if we can get out Internet up and working. And called the mechanic, something has come loose in the Jeep and it wants to stall. Sounds like what we just got fixed in Amado!!!
