Staying in Amado one more day.

We were getting to get ready to go when I checked the weather report. Glad I did.

We had winds like that on our way here from Quartzsite in November. Not fun at all. By later this afternoon the winds should stop.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained wind speeds of between 30 and 40 mph are expected, or wind gusts of between 40 and 58 mph. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. In addition, strong winds over desert areas could result in briefly lowered visibilities to well under a mile at times in blowing dust or blowing sand. Use extra caution. Action Recommended

Execute a pre-planned activity identified in the instructions

So just going to enjoy the day off. I spent the day reading a good book. We took a walk around this campground, it is a lot bigger than I thought it was. The back of it has a lot of "park models" in it. Some are really nice. Bill watched some TV and read himself to sleep. Very relaxing. I've been watching the flags the wind is strong enough to be bending the poles.
Tomorrow if weather is good we will head towards home again. Maybe as far as Quartzsite. Maybe not that far. No time line for when we need to be home.

When we are traveling with the RV we also watch the weather and do our very best to not travel in bad weather or wind. We simply find a place that offers power and wait it out. Being retired has many advantages😀😀.

When we lived in Indiana - we always had to pay attention to tornados - out here in the west - mainly watch for wind. No sense doing something we don't have to do.

I was really dumb and tried to leave Laughlin in that wind and only made it ten miles before my side awning ripped and was flapping in the breeze. I know it was frayed a bit, so I assume the wind caught it while i was driving. Turned around and headed back to campground. Had to have someone come out and remove it, then tie and duct tape the empty brackets to the motorhome until I can get a new one installed. Also, was a sand storm in campground and am still wiping up sand and grit from everywhere, even the keyboard of my laptop and my camera!!!
