Mazatlan

Hello from a VERY WARM and HUMID Mazatlan. Ugly, muggly, weather you wear. Almost sounds like Indiana. Hope it cools down soon.
We left Los Mochis Pemex earlier than we planned this morning, in fact before the sun came up. 6:30.
And that was a mistake, never thought that the road went as much east as it did south. Nothing like the rising sun coming in through a dirty window. And with all the dust and smoke in the air it was hard to see anything.
Glad I wasn’t driving. But eventually it finished going up and then it got warm. Most of the day was very uneventful. The road was mostly good with some not quite as good. But nothing like yesterday. Six toll booths today to the tune of US$61.

About half way here the vegetation changed. It is so green and thick this year. Really pretty. We got “our spot” at Las Jaibas RV Park. All our gravel is still there. The park has nice level pull throughs with cement patios. Good 30 amp service, good water pressure and sewer. A little under US$16 a day if paying by the month. WiFi is available in the front office or a few front spaces.
Of course we went out to dinner for RIBS. the price has gone up again this year 2 complete dinners for 224 pesos about US12
Then we drove around town a little. More on that tomorrow.

Welcome to Mazatlan. Think it is just as warm here in Guayabitos as it is there but the saving grace is the ocean breeze we have most of the time. Thankful for your safe trip.

They were - no leftovers.

I hope the heat goes away soon - Bill waited to get the AC in the car fixed until we got here. Just way too hot for me. And the whole town from GoldenZone to Olas Altas is torn up for construction

Be glad you aren't here. more on that later

Those ribs look terrific. Nice and chilly here in Tahachapi, CA, however. Too cold, I think, but headed to lower elevations soon. Wish I could find a rib place like that here.

Yes, it is. We felt so very sad at the way Mazatlan is torn up - hard for me to understanding the thinking in doing it that way. We were going to stay two weeks but instead we hurried off to Guayabitos after only one week.

Our son lives there so does Bills brother. We could use a little cold here. Can't beat the price on the ribs. Drive safely.
